“After 45 years working as a mechanic and engineer in motorsport and road cars, the Marcos project is a real labour of love for me.

“I first saw a Marcos racing at Brands Hatch in the late 1970s. What stayed with me was the sense that this was a company that put drivers first, building inventive, exciting sports cars that enthusiasts could own, enjoy and race at the weekend.

“Developing the Spirit prototype in 2012 was a particularly proud moment. Jem Marsh supported the project and asked to become its technical adviser. Then, after we ran the car at Prescott Hill Climb, Dennis Adams gave it his approval and described it as the way forward. Having that encouragement from two people so central to Marcos meant an enormous amount.

“As a longstanding admirer of Marcos, becoming CEO is a tremendous privilege. I’m proud to help lead its next chapter alongside Tony Brown, whose passion and persistence have been instrumental in keeping this project moving.

“Tony brings decades of experience across Formula One, IndyCar and sports cars. The support his vision and prototype received from Jem Marsh and Dennis Adams makes this project particularly meaningful.

“I first drove a Marcos LM500 in the early 2000s and was immediately hooked. From the Flying Splinter to the Mantis, the marque has always had an individual approach to performance. Jem Marsh and Frank Costin created something special, and subsequent cars, including the TSO GT, continued that ambition.

“We are now bringing together experience from Formula One, Rolls-Royce, Lotus and beyond to develop a lightweight, British-built supercar with a clear identity of its own.
“The new model will be a rear-mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive supercar, with low weight and exceptional acceleration central to its development. Its design, power output and weight remain under wraps while testing and development continue.

“We know enthusiasts are eager to see what comes next. Our ambition is to create a car that earns its Marcos badge through its engineering, its character and, above all, the way it drives.”
