The Return of Marcos
The British sports car marque founded in 1959 is being revived by a team in Milford Haven, Wales, with a new car in development.
A new chapter in the story of Marcos is beginning.
Founded in 1959 by Jem Marsh and aeronautical engineer Frank Costin, Marcos earned its reputation by doing things differently. Costin brought principles learned in aircraft design to the road, helping create lightweight sports cars distinguished by their ingenuity, performance and unmistakable character.
That independent spirit carried Marcos from British roads to international competition, including appearances at Le Mans and in British GT. Across changing eras and a succession of memorable models, one idea remained constant: the driver should be at the centre of the experience.
Today, that idea is shaping the marque's return.
A new team based in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, is developing the next Marcos sports car. Led by engineering director Tony Brown, and with William Storey as chief executive, the programme brings together specialists with experience at the highest levels of motorsport, including Formula One.
This is not an exercise in recreating the past. The new car is intended to carry the principles established by Marsh and Costin into a new generation: low weight, purposeful engineering and an absorbing connection between car and driver.
Development is already under way, with the new Marcos scheduled to be revealed in autumn 2026.
