A New Marcos Prototype Takes Shape
Development of the next Marcos has reached running-prototype stage: mid-engined, rear-wheel drive, and built around a custom space-frame chassis.
Development of the next Marcos has reached an important milestone: the new car is now taking shape as a running prototype.
At its heart is a purpose-built, mid-engined and rear-wheel-drive platform developed to deliver the direct, engaging character for which Marcos became known. The prototype combines a custom space-frame chassis with a naturally aspirated engine and six-speed manual transmission: an increasingly rare configuration chosen to put the driver firmly in control.
The team is targeting chassis torsional rigidity of 28,000 Nm per degree as it works to balance strength, responsiveness and weight.
Testing and development are being conducted from the company's base in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire. The engineering programme is led by Tony Brown and supported by a team whose experience includes Formula One and other high-performance disciplines.
The prototype marks a decisive step from design and simulation into physical development. Over the months ahead, its systems and dynamics will be evaluated and refined as the car progresses towards its public debut.
Technical figures remain development targets and will be confirmed when the new Marcos is revealed in autumn 2026.
