The New Marcos Has a Name: Manticore

The next Marcos will be called Manticore: a mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive British supercar to be revealed in autumn 2026.

The next Marcos sports car will be called Manticore.

The name continues a tradition that has given the marque some of its most recognisable model names, including Mantis, Mantula and Mantara. Like those cars, Manticore is being developed around a distinctive combination of performance, individuality and driver involvement.

Designed and built in Wales, Manticore will be a mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive British supercar. The development programme is targeting a top speed of 200 mph, while a naturally aspirated engine and six-speed manual transmission will place mechanical engagement at the centre of the driving experience.

Its name signals continuity, but the car itself will look forward. Manticore is not intended as a recreation of an earlier Marcos. It is a new model conceived to express the marque's founding principles through contemporary engineering.

Development is under way at Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, ahead of the car's planned reveal in autumn 2026.
